Why This Matters
History has shown us a painful truth: when people forget, it repeats itself. The same patterns of violence, economic destruction, and systemic oppression that devastated Black communities in the past continue in new forms today.
But history also shows us something else: extraordinary resilience, innovation, and excellence. Despite every obstacle, Black people have contributed immeasurably to science, art, business, and every field of human achievement.
Both stories must be told. The excellence inspires us. The injustice warns us. Together, they give us the knowledge to build a better future.
